A sponge is a big no-no. Sponges can hold tiny rocks and debris without you noticing and when you use it on your windshield, they will cause little scratches.

What do we recommend? Always use 2 microfiber cloths: one for washing and another for drying. Make sure that the cleaning soap you’re using is specifically for auto glass.

On the other hand, infrequent cleaning can also harm your windshield. Windshields that are not cleaned regularly can collect dust, little rocks, leaves, and all types of debris. All of these elements can get caught in your wipers or when cleaning, resulting in expensive damage or even windshield replacement.

Wiper Blades

Wiper blades require proper maintenance and, depending on the recommendations, replacement after a certain period of time. Wiper blades wear down with time, exposing hard plastic that can impact your auto glass. 

What do we recommend? Follow the instructions on the wiper’s manufacturer about the maintenance and replacement period. It’s a good idea to check your wipers every now and then to make sure they are in optimal conditions.

  • Technicians are greeting customers from a social distance with a smile instead of a handshake.
  • As always, we encourage our associates to wash their hands frequently, refrain from touching their faces and to stay home if they aren’t feeling well.
  • If associates have recently traveled to a high-risk area of the world or been exposed to someone who has, we are asking them to self-quarantine for 14 days, as recommended by the CDC.
  • We have instituted strict international and domestic travel policies and postponed large in-person meetings.
  • We continue to update our associates across the country on procedures to help stop the spread of germs.
